amp and news reports

Its funny how things work.

I was reading the usual papers late last week, weekend and Monday and noticed a large number of positive reports on AMP.
It all seemed a little too good to be true. ( from my experiences re: the market )

The stock as expected rose from such positive reports and i'm sure many people who were unsure of commiting there hard earned to AMP would have felt a degree of relief after having read those positive newspaper reports.

And here we are Tuesday with a 1Billion writedown. Yes the writedown had been pre-warned, but the timing with those positive newspaper reports is what erks me.

A two day run followed by a pre-open period followed by a 16c fall. People in the know would have been selling into that rally. Or am i cinical in believing that someone would have known.

Just lucky the thing didn't do a LOK or a PTD again.
