my dear Norah……to play in this game you cannot get excited about daily movements. Worse still are movements of futures. Yes if you are a genuine day trader go for it. But not for an investor.
Major companies have based forecasts equity markets returning between 8% and 12% for the next year, over the last 25 years I have been involved., and probably have averaged about 10%. Which means you double your money on average every 7 years. A 2% or 3% movement in futures is just a blip on the computer screen.
