tbh given how the demerger was f*ed by major holders, I would speculate that we're going to see capital returns and special dividends rather than a sizeable buyback.

I have a sneaking suspicion that the major holders want to see an immediate cash return and that would be gained by deploying the ~$2B they have from the fire sale.

I'd expect they'll prioritise debt reduction to a point, then a capital return and final a special dividend, with maybe $250M if we're lucky in buybacks.

My plan is to hold for the cash return and then sell for a tax benefit, I've got no faith in management to turn AMP bank into anything special.
