jdon, institutional investors 'at some stage' do not care about their buy in price the way retail investors do. they have so many investments, some doing well and others not so. They will calculate the cost of leaving the funds in rather than taking the funds out, also known as opportunity cost. They may have other deals on the table that they know they can secure a higher return if they had the extra funds, so will take a loss on one deal to make a profit on another.
and the concept of 'cheap' or 'expensive' is not relative to value.
