This cash position was annouced awhile ago. The company said that they will have to do something with it. This is what they are proposing to do. They have also said that if they dont get an acceptable figure they will not go ahead with the full plan. It all depends how the market will perceive it today. If it stays below 5.80 that is a good sign if you are short.
Lets see how it pans out. There is still another 12 odd days of options to expire and that is a long time for AMP.
