I'm only going on what I read in the paper. If AMP has 1.2million shares and somebody values them at $6.20 per share, then you work out what the company is valued at.
My feeling is that once AMP splits into the Aussie part and the other loss-making image-destroying part, everyone will sell the other shares for bugger-all, and then approach the Aussie part with a new attitude.
The trick is to recognise when the sum total of the two has been sold down too far. Realistically, even though their name is currently mud, I suspect they have finally bitten the bullet and we have seen the worst of the bad news.
Mind you... I could be wrong. I thought I was wrong once before, but I made a mistake.
