re: amp did ok but missed the jackpot AMP bought most of their MCR holding off Kumba at 41c in July 2003. They've been aggressively selling down through 2005 and early 2006 at ~70c average, giving them perhaps 70% return over 2 - 2.5 years. A great return as far as your typical fund manager is concerned but they could have made so much more....
