    with regards to the lack of uptrend...

    there has been a seller in the market lately (Duetche bank) this has been keeping the sp down, the buyback has been a beneficiary of that but also lately there has been a large buyer step in to soak up the loose DB stock.
    Once the overhang is soaked the sp may be allowed to climb again
