This confirmed that there were amyloid deposits on my liver. A bone biopsy, cardiac MRI, gastroscopy and blood tests confirmed cardiac, liver and spleen involvement for AL Amyloidosis as multiple myeloma.
My treatment was taken over by a haematologist who has been brilliant.
I am also under the care of the Princess Alexandra Amyloid Clinic in Brisbane. Professor Peter Mollee leads a team of specialists from different disciplines whose expertise is amyloidosis.

To give you a sense of how much I have improved, in the early days of my diagnosis I would be with my haematologist for 30 plus minutes every week.
Nowadays I see him once a month and I am out of there in three or four minutes.
Find out about exercise therapy, I have found it to greatly improve my physical and mental well being.
FYI, I am 73 years old
