That's not going to convince anyone not to accept an offer from DOW.
But they have helped DOW by saying that synergies could be $60M+ pa, so DOW holders can be more comfortable with DOW bidding for SPO, so that should assist DOW sp.
Looks like game up to me (barring the "nice guy" close out of a couple cents more to get a recommendation and 100% completion - I say "nice guy" because my reading is that $1.15 will get the deal done).

...and IMO, unless an unlikely "white knight" comes in and takes out SPO (and DOW's share of it) at a higher price in which case DOW reverts to "normal" with a few extra $ in hand , DOW sp will hang around $5.95 plus or minus a bit (a bit is +/- ~5%!) for up to half a year before upside breakout

No white knights would be silly enough. DOW might get stuck with it, somehow I think Fenn's move was a great one IMHO to diversify DOW away from stock standard mining, rail and engineering.
