Some 50 years ago now, I was born to parents who were also born in Australia and their parents were born here to.
Whatever happened to that "fair go" and "looking out for your mates"? I fear it went out the window many years ago now along with everything else that was once good and made Australia a great place to live. It all went up in smoke when we embraced everything American as if was sent from heaven.
Whatever happened to the days when you could confidently walk down the street without fear of being bashed just because you were in the wrong place at the wrong time?
Whatever happened to the days when drugs meant something you took with a cup of tea and a good lay down?
And tell me this. Why is it that I had a boss recently who was a 20 something year old Indian and was running around an Indian village somewhere in the Punjab in nappies when I was almost 30?
And why is it I feel screwed? Screwed by our laws that discriminate against me simply because I am an English speaking, heterosexual white working class male? Laws that are written in order to manage me out of my share of the national wealth for MY toil.
