The intent of the Constitution Drafters was that all Commonwealth citizens like all Australians were not aliens.
It was the Liberals and ALP who changed this situation in 1998 in the combined dirty tricks campaign against One Nation. They created the argument that an entitlement to British citizenship made people ineligible for federal parliament. They won and got Heather Hill thrown out.
They are just reaping the result of their own dirty tricks. No sympathy.
The rules are in clear language. They say what they mean and mean what they say.
