I and many thousands of others in Australia have dual citizenship. I have to vote in Australia, by law. Does that make my vote unsound? I have the right of abode in my country of birth, I choose Australia. How does one go about renouncing ones birth country anyway? Where do you go to do it? A dual Australia/UK citizen can only vote in Australia as normal country of residence. They cannot vote in the UK. The only advantage is that they can reside in the UK if they wish. It is no great advantage. How does it affect the way a dual citizen MP in Australia does his/her job? When I took Australian citizenship, I had to swear allegience to the Queen (of Britain and Australia). Has it been proven that dual citizen MPs have taken the job in order to damage Australia ? I think that several true blue, dinky di, Aussie through and through PMs and ministers have done their level best to damage Australia. Let those dual citizen MPs renounce the other citizenship and get back to doing the job!
