A dual Australia/UK citizen can only vote in Australia as normal country of residence. They cannot vote in the UK. The only advantage is that they can reside in the UK if they wish. It is no great advantage. How does it affect the way a dual citizen MP in Australia does his/her job? When I took Australian citizenship, I had to swear allegience to the Queen (of Britain and Australia). Has it been proven that dual citizen MPs have taken the job in order to damage Australia ? I think that several true blue, dinky di, Aussie through and through PMs and ministers have done their level best to damage Australia. Let those dual citizen MPs renounce the other citizenship and get back to doing the job!

Would be better focusing on preventing dual citizens from getting dual pensions. I presume this still goes on . It used to apply with UK citizens and it is downright wrong.
