The greatest beauty, from my perspective, when I first looked into MND (early in the year) was that it was so cheap (under $6), relative to my conservative estimate of value on offer, that I felt I didn't need to spend too much time on my analysis. I think I spent about 3 weeks (or so), which is quite hurried for me.
My feelings were that when even very good investors were shunning the sector (including yourself, if I remember correctly), that there must be value on offer (Howard Marks and John Templeton would concur, I think). The remarkable thing about MND was that the value on offer did not seem to require too much sleuthing. It stood out like proverbials.
Having you "on board", though, is quite a boon. In agreement with sentiments expressed by @travelightor, I try not too get too swayed by any one opinion (even opinions of the calibre offered by your good self), as a way of preventing myself from getting on that slippery slope that leads to group-think
@travelightor, wrt negatives concerning MND, one would have to say it would largely relate to the nature of the industry (no?). You know, "when good managers meet bad businesses..." etc etc. But then, this isn't an industry that's facing an existential threat, is it. I mean, it's not a textiles business that's trying to compete with China, for instance.
