In he has been in business for that many years, it seems he has not yet learned one thing: that for most small to medium businesses, their employees are their biggest assets and they need happy employees as happy employees are productive employees.
Any employee who has read that part would be greatly offended. If an employer does not trust his employees, the latter would not trust their employer in response. It is just a natural human reaction.
Sure that employer can replace those employees and hire new ones but if he continues to hold that view of his employees, these new employees will soon start not to trust that employer.
In any human interaction, be it at workplace or socially, if there is no mutual trust, the relationship will not last.
