Yes, that's what I was getting at. If it has followed recognized patterns fairly closely in the recent past, then (in the absence of any startling news) its course over the next few weeks should be able to be predicted/estimated with a deal more certainty than could be applied to other stocks.

This situation would change of time and therefore would constantly need to be reviewed, but I believe that institutional investors place a great weight of their decision making on technical analysis and charting and would therefore be similarly interested, and perhaps influenced.
