Dear Mr Gordon, what possible aid to humanity if God literally intervenes when we are responsible to correct the errors of the past?
How is God bringing and end to war? By continual education of humanity via the likes of Jesus and Baha'u'llah. True, it is a very slow process, we tried after WWI with the League of Nations, but those same negative forces reemerged and caused WWII. We then tried with the United Nations and though certain treaties were signed and global trade has somewhat laid a more sound foundation for peace, it seems that this too has not sufficiently created a lasting peace. It may be that a third cataclysm is not that far off and if there is another global conflict, then I would imagine that we might finally establish a new global contract that removes veto and a considerable amount of national authority so that a real global arbitrator of peace is established.
This is God bringing an end to wars. This is God breaking the bow and shattering the spear. It is done by the emergence of humans into a cohesive body with universal laws and protections.
God has provided the tools to establish peace and humans must use them to establish peace. There will never be a supernatural moment in which a giant hand reaches down and breaks some kids bow and arrows. We are the masters of our own future and those who wait for God to do something are no better than a hinderance to peace. God has already done something, but we have not taken it to heart. When we do, that will be God in action.
