Would you say the same and would as many be saying the same if the CEO was male and had botched the response and the comments about having contacted the family when a reporter had the family on the line saying that was untrue? CEO Deborah Thomas then said that she would call the family after the press conference (see article below).

If a male CEO did that, there would be immediate calls for his resignation by sholders etc but in this case, the media treatment has been highly questionable.

It seems similar themes have been picked up by mothers group in Australia this week. Parents blogs such as mouthsofmum (see below) have been commenting on the spat between David Murray ex CEO of CBA and Catherine Livingstone formerly of TLS now CBA. The response from Livingstone's supporters is that Ms Livingstone did well at TLS. When u look at the TLS SP, EBITDA etc, the facts do not support Ms Livingstone's supporters' suggestions. Same here at AAD.

If the bonus was for past performance, how do you judge that past performance positively? Why do male CEOs such as Wells Fargo CEO get their salary retrospectively clawed back whereas in this case, Ms Thomas is getting $1.48 million - $178 million (as donated to the red cross) leaving her with $1.302 million.

Sexist or not? Obscene or not? Both? If not, y not? I think that if the media r suggesting lynch mob, it may be part of an identity politics agenda where past wrongs are made right using reverse sexism. That can only lead to problems such as tokenistic appointments, tokenistic treatment and tragedy of people appointed not in merit and their response not being reviewed on its merit.
