Of course I knew that the Pakistani people were Muslims. I am not ignorant of that fact, thank you. But they tried very hard to fit in.
I also worked in a large office in London with people of all faiths and had a similar experience to you. Unfortunately, times have changed a great deal since then. There is a great deal of natural resentment towards illegal immigrrants in particular. Woke was not around then. Also you did not have a two tier police/government system.
Pakistani Muslims did not hang around in groups carrying machetes, knives and swords, threatening white people then. There is no need to get into a personal argument over this.
