Unfortunately, times have changed a great deal since then.
There is a great deal of natural resentment towards illegal immigrrants in particular.
Woke was not around then.
Also you did not have a two tier police/government system.

Pakistani Muslims did not hang around in groups carrying machetes, knives and swords, threatening white people then.
There is no need to get into a personal argument over this.
