I grew them for few years. They cross with other varieties resulting in different colours and stripes. Very similar to some zucchini varieties. Like Most squash they increase in flavour with maturity. The mature ones are great with the lid taken off, hollowed out somewhat(seeds) and stuffed with savoury things like mince, onion and tomato. I wrap the whole thing in foil and bake, or BBQ slowly.
