the most damning aspect is that this scheme actually appeals to LNP voters .. it was a guaranteed vote winner

yet tax welfare is far more generous than social security will ever be and rather than enabling people to put food on the table and pay bills, it enables people to upgrade vehicles, renovate properties, claim dubious deductions and obtain instant asset write offs for items that will end up being used for personal use, not to mention
the sickness of our system is largely a manifestation of LNP economic incompetance and we will pay for it dearly, for a very long time ..
bring down the full force of the law but furthermore, bring the pain to the top end, via the taxation system, so that the cycle of punishing the poor, the vulnerable and the working poor can finally be arrested and turned around
wealth using the taxation system to amass more wealth is non productive.. taxation treatment needs to be tweaked to favour entrepreneurial spirit, not utes, tools and real estate..
I actually believe the stage 3 tax cuts should go ahead but total tax reform of assets, wealth management, trusts and complicated accounting structures, primary place of residence CG exemption thresholds, deductions on short term rental properties, council rates and 'service' charges on short term rental etc etc.. to start both effectively extracting a fair cut of wealth as a result of asset inflation 'hidden' from income statements, from investors using residential housing for CG and extracting a daily rate of rent via short term rental and if necessary, to divert capital flow away from wealth amassing activities and towards innovation, manufacturing, self sustainability and productivity.. in all of which, Australia is falling behind
