Are you going to volunteer to be the first cullee? Or your family or your loved ones?
I've heard people say things like: "Ahh the Chinese(*), THEY can afford to lose a few million people!"
*or African or Asian nation.
It makes me sad and angry every time: In the end it is always someone's child, mother, father, lover, if not the whole family that is taken by bad government, disease, enemies, natural disasters etc.etc.
We all wish to survive, and if I do not want trouble to come to me, I also do not want it to come to others.
There are ways to make this earth a paradise and sustain a large population, but we will have to change our ways, and change we will. We need to have more birth control, education for women, and get rid of or reform stupid religions that allow and encourage breeding just for breeding's sake (possibly by the same method the Chinese have used: sanction a certain number of children, tax the rest). We will need to assess if we really need quite so much animal protein as is eaten in the West (and now in Asia); pulses like beans, peas and lentils can be made into delicious dishes.
We will have to recycle resources, water foremost.
We have the knowledge and techniques to survive on this planet in large numbers, we just have to apply them.
