    G'day Holy,

Enjoyed once again reading between the lines of the "simple thoughts of simple folks nothing more, nothing less".

Having tossed and turned a number of ideas of strategy over with the rudderless principal you speak of...Pete, wasn't that his name, I deduced he simply had NO idea, and even less imagination.

And as one who sees a number of the issues confronting the development of a big Clarence Morton resource being rather less technical than ideological I fear the Generals are quite unprepared for battle.

(To borrow a fishing term - like stunned mullets).

On the other hand, I have never personally believed they had really taken the decisive step to shut up shop per se!

And even less moved by the notion of seeking to do business in another arena. Oh NO, they KNOW where the future is, but as you say....have not the leadership skills on OR off the field, to progress us towards it.

I field telephone calls from long term holders; believers in this resource...and its strategic value to the local regional economy and to the NSW Gov't "balance of payments" which will so sorely be in need of its stimulus soon enough.

The fear is great that WE, that is a number of posters and observers on HOT COPPER are about to see the great opportunity we together outlayed capital (like you and the families 63 shares at last count) to participate in...be WASTED!

ERM Power, (EPW), have now taken a stake on the register of their partner of several ventures Empire Oil and Gas (EGO), and although not a joint partner in any MEL ventures, (whilst present on the register), I have no doubt if WE haven't progressed our resource nearer the time ERM can see an imminent need for its use, then THEY will move....and seek to drive that development themselves.

ERM in who I declare an ever increasing holding myself, DO have the leadership skills to which you refer Holy, and the vision, the imagination.

THEY CULTIVATE the contacts...on the cultural, political and environmental fronts, they are PROACTIVE, as good generals (natural born leaders) are.

Without knowing ERM's timeframe, I suspect our time as a free-standing wholly owned resource is finite, and I believed my investment in MEL should have been the equal of or greater than the success some of us enjoyed with QGC and others.

Unlike the now unseen leadership group at MEL, I don't want to give up. And I am done waiting to see it they really HAVE given up for us.

"The family members comnfess that we are not devotees of the Gods of past history or previous aura. That is all just excess baggage in an overloaded plane that is spiralling downwards in an uncontrolled dive."

No Holy, the CV's of these former Exxon etc employees count for nothing in this latest battle, I agree.

Am I to take it that you would consider taking a sabbatical from the fishing and your fields, return down under and participate in a move to redress these imbalances?

"We routinely sacrifice failures at the doorstep to the Temple, then enter the Temple of the Gods of Success..."

For sure the time (AGM) for sacrifice nears, "... the waters are now bubbling and the froth is rising and the soup is slowly coming to the boil." as you say, and if your post is in any way to test the temperature of the groundswell then you must be aware time is of the essence.

    Please approach.
