That's a longgghhg answer, but Ill give it a crack.
I stack many kinds and that is based on listening to others, forums, following a few youtubers, what's best bang for your buck, what's most liquid, having liquidated much of my silver in 2016, having restacked it back again, been a stackers for 7+ years, etc.
Imo, these are my top takeaways
- stay away from numismatics generally (i find it a risky and smoke and mirrors side of collecting)
- stick to reputable brands (e.g. Perth Mint, Scottsdale)
- stack stuff that is well known and is liquid (e.g. kook coins, American eagles, PM bars, American eagles, maples, etc, etc ,etc)
- generally stick to lower ounce silver, e.g. 1oz, 2oz, 5 oz, 10oz
- stay away from high premium brands (e.g. Pamp)
- enjoy your stack, break some of the rules above, have fun, be patient
- in terms of my stack - Lots of: Perth Mint kooks, plenty of 10oz bars (PM and Scottsdale), 5oz bars (Scottsdale), Lots of lunar coins (PM), American Eagles coins, Austrian Philharmonic, South African Kruggerands, Geigers
