All of what @DonaldFrump said is good advice and well researched .

A good tip is to remember why you are buying it and not get dazzled by the vast array of silver products that are out there.

The you tube vids are good but don't take them as gospel as there are people who have bias prejudices to certain coins , bars or junk silver and do peddle the prepper argument , at the end of the day if want to sell , 1oz of .9999 silver is 1oz of .9999 silver regardless of the pretty coin or a certain mint or a bar.

Some numismatics are good but are purely for collectors so if there is something you like buy from a reputable mint ,and Perth mint is one of the best in the world for great coins and series . Things to look out for are ,buy proof coins only , limited mintages and series as they do appreciate .

I personally buy a lot of what they call low premium coins and bars and they are great for stacking . What they are ,are buy backs and will consist of quality coins , or rounds and you can request either .
Coins are legal tender issued by government mints and rounds are round coins usually issued by private refineries , all .999 or better purity .

You also have junk silver which are pre decimal currency in Australia and most countries have coins minted before the mid 60's with silver of some content.
Spot price is the current price of silver and that is all you get from the dealer when you sell and there is a premium on what you buy so be wary

I will post a couple of links you can look at which I find useful at times .
