Don't buy half ounce coins , they are way over priced . If you wanted smaller denominations of silver look at buying 1966 round 50 cent coins ,3 of those = 1oz of silver or Australian pre decimal coins . This link calculates the silver value .

If you have time and live in a city peruse the pawn shops and coin dealers and haggle with them , remember they are dealers and turnover is paramount . Try and get the 50c for 9 bucks each and you have done well . Avoid the US coins in Australia as they are trend priced and have less silver value than pre 46 aussie coins.
