Gday Treggs. I hope its not against the HC TOU to recommend a broker, but have u tried AxiTrader? They offer the Metatrader platform free of charge. You can code your own indicators and if ya smart enuf, even code an auto trader in MQL.
As far as trading with indicators, I prefer to use longer term time frames than day traders. I use my own software, to generate signals, using more than just price alone. I have had some success with algorithmic trades, when combining multiple timeframes, but the best 'automated' trading systems I have tested use data such as COT data, and intermarket analysis.
Whenever I try day trading it seems the pirates (read brokers) come out to get me. The ninjas are also out this week, breaking my internet. Some day I will put together an auto trading program together in MQL for day trading, but I'm pretty lazy, so ...
Anyway I'm not in any way sponsored by the aforementioned broker, but I will take donations (preferably in the form of gold bars).
