The governments of the pars 10 years have carefully crafted the statistical analysis algo's to reflect the figures they want the public to believe and are not at all reflective of the true economy and employment figures. There are places in Qld where the unemployment rate for people after leaving school and up to 25 yo is around 20per cent.
The government likes to stick these people on useless little courses so they can call them in school or on course and they disappear off the unemployment stats
Some of them get a job for a few hours a week serving coffee or washing the dishes and then they disappear off the unemployment figures. One hour a week puts you in work and off the unemployment list and there is no underemployment list.
