Hardmano,
Fusion's map suggests that the next Chinguetti appraisal well will be sites in the eastern block very close to the interpreted oil/water contact. Their seismic section suggests a well to the west of Chinguetti. We are dealing with an incomplete, imperfect set of data that the JV has condescended to release to the shareholders.
Hardman's Ching map (in the AIM listing document) suggests that the Eastern fault block is also upthrown. The interpreted oil/water contacts on this map suggests that they are shallower in the upthrown blocks and deeper in the Ching-1 block.
Yes, the sands are thicker on the flanks of the structure, and there is a chance of deeper sands, possibly with separate accumulations - but IMHO we will only see these if the well is drilled in the same block as Ching 1.
Another inconsistency is the oil column in Banda. What I would like to know is what column was intersected in the well and what column in interpreted.
The inconsistency in the various information releases suggests varying positions (on the part of various parties) somewhere in the continuum between incompetence and obfuscation.
(still the information is less misleading than the recent EPR release on Port Fairy -1 - It flowed at 4 - 5 mmscfd for 5 minutes. pfffttt!!)
