The world's largest gold producer, Canada's Barrick Gold Corp, said it would consider assets where gold and copper mineralisation occured together in its global search for merger and acquisition opportunities. Barrick was rumoured to have an interest in buying OZ Minerals' Prominent Hill gold and copper mine in SA this year, but yesterday Australian Pacific president Gary Halverson would not confirm this."
