Simple algebra gives you 9(x+1) at step 4 for your choice of x. As the result is always going to be a multiple of 9 (ie 18, 27, 36, ... 81, 90) the sum of the digits is always going to be 9; if it isn't you made a mistake. The OP made a mistake in not including Shawshank Redemption at no.9, the Albanese Resignation Speech probably won't get made before Penny Wong gets the job.
