Your comments on Thoratec are pretty much on the mark. They are aware they have a 2 to 3 year window before 3rd generation impedes on their territory and are mindful of whether to consider licensing or purchasing a device and/or continue with their pipeline. In the mean time their strategy is to choke the competition. In that, to put as many hospitals on their books as they can.

Thus, VCR needs to address the above reimbursements, been outstanding for sometime, and put more emphasis on signing up further participating hospitals in and out of the US.

Incidentally, as waiting periods for transplants cannot be quantified would not some BTT’s overlap within the criteria of DT’s. To date have not found anything that does not permit this to happen. Any comments?
