As you say things will change, and if one looks around, the signs are beginning re the price of oil.
Its been a bloodbath on all the worlds markets as its starting to really bite as Venezuela has started to get the ball rolling with a request for an emergency meeting with OPEC.
The House of Saud is now starting to suffer as its been reported that their stock portfolio has plummeted in value and they are being forced to sell on disingenuous terms plus they have to look at the damage they have done to their own oil income.
Whether they intended for their actions to be as disastrous as they have, we will never know but I believe their intention was only to hurt the shale plays in the US.
Now, not only are the poorer nations starting to hurt, the Arab people are also getting caught in the crossfire and its a state of affairs that cannot be sustained for much longer.
Its one thing for the Royals in the Gulf to chop off anyone's head for dissent - but those practices amount to a hill of beans outside the Kingdom. As Saddam learnt, what goes around comes around...
