The Western Metropolitan Regional Council (WMRC) Project is a powerful demonstration of the AnaeCo™ technology, presenting for the first time in Australia, a next generation facility that allows for the retrofitting of existing Transfer Stations with MSW processing technology.​ The AnaeCo™ AWT (Advanced Waste Treatment) plant incorporates a fast automatic waste sorting and recycling system, and the patented AnaeCo™ System – a hybrid biological process which converts the organic content of solid waste into quality organic fertiliser and biogas – diverting 75% of household waste from landfill. The AnaeCo™ System produces its own heating and electrical energy requirements, with surplus green electricity available for export to the grid. ​ The AnaeCo™ facility built at the JFR McGeough Resource Recovery Facility is located just 6 kilometers from the Perth Central Business District. WMRC is one of Perth's regional waste management groups, comprising Mosman Park, Cottesloe, Claremont, Peppermint Grove and Subiaco councils. ​ Construction of the WMRC Project has been completed, with commissioning now in progress. Once completed, the AnaeCo™ AWT Plant will process 55,000 tonnes of MSW each year for the WMRC and City of Stirling.​
