Can you seriously not see how this business would instantaneously be more valuable under the ownership of some other corporate entity?

Based on precedence, as well as the maxim of "When even good-quality management come up against a poor-quality business, the poor-quality inevitably wins", the only thing new management will do is receive executive compensation while they try to buy some time until the inevitable end game happens.
