Perhaps the thread should be "interpret this"? Until more light is shed on the deal you can really read a number of things into the announcement - positive or negative. By pulling it apart now and trying to analyse it without all the details you are only going to snowball the fear/conspiracy theories. May well be right, may well be wrong. Lets wait and see.
