I read recently that most Field Portable XRF (FP-XRF) manufacturers have spent a lot into R&D on this handy device and the sales have grown over the last couple of years.

True there is a que at the labs for the assaying, hence my thoughts whether FMS are using this handy device, it will save them time particularyl with 2 rigs going gang-busters soon.

The FP-XRF gives u an estimate of the in-situ content but so does a thermometer when the medic stick one to read the body temperature. For the 1st bore hole, where FMS had 8m of Pisolitic-Fe, one could get the Fe content, say 55%, Si: 8% and so on with this device.

Just my thoughts perhaps Kev knows more on this.
