just as an aside, banks are the hugely profitable organisations that they are.... because of loans awarded to credit-worthy borrowers...Centro as an example. (that's their business)
The banks would certainly not be wishing Centro to pay down the full debt. They are simply requiring a level of gearing that they may feel more comfortable with, given the alleged deterioration in CNP asset values.
