before this catastrophe South Erregulla was going to be a 40TJpd stand alone gas production field - probably 6 wells - to even out long term production and guarantee supply through maintenance and breakdowns etc. That is, it was going to be BIG!
Big reserves mean big GSA's, means a financial path to production, the capacity to borrow against those reserves is critical....
It was never planned to be a small affair - reserves were the linchpin to the dream! Thus they tried to prove up a wider gas struture via SE2&3 beyond SE1.
Proven reserves are critical!!!
