I take my hat off to you, Robo. Pharmaceutical R&D would be much more painstaking and slower than getting mining projects off the ground. No wonder you are much more patient than I.
I learnt a bit about the intricacies of pharmaceutical developments years ago when I was trying to get a relly with cancer into a clinical trial to at least give him a fighting chance (and some hope). I "pulled strings" with a company who owned the product to get to those actually conducting the trials. He was accepted, but then decided not to participate, and died a few weeks later. It was probably too late by the time I heard about the trial, but thought that everybody should have the straw of hope to cling to.
Anyway, I was rather frustrated by the parameters imposed on the testing of new drugs and the lengthy periods that must lapse before they can be tried on humans. Seemed so silly. A terminally ill person has nothing to lose, have they? And some would jump at any chance...so I thought delays were cruel & unnecessary. And I am against the use of placebos. A dying person taking a sugar-coated pill in the hope it will prolong life just seemed so cruel and unjust. But, yes, I understand that these "controls" are needed to test efficacy.
So, Robo, I think the mining industry with all its pitfalls is a breeze compared to all that.....I dont think I could hack it........
.......just as I cant hack the suspense of waiting for the "Railway" results, lol.
