Years ago I opened a can of anchovies thinking they were sardines, had a big mouth full and oh dear.
Love them, some of the oil and a fillet or two on a bit of crusty bread enjoyed with a red wine.
Have come across some white anchovies, bit sweet and not as strong flavour
