watso has never previously purchased anchovies - but was visiting "european food wholesalers" to buy some riga sprats - and watso noticed that they were clearing (probably close to code) anchovies for half price... 140gm jar for $1.90 - so watso bought the minimum requirement of 3 jars... later on, when watso checked out the price at the majors, then that was a real bargain.
wondering what to do with the anchovies, watso added them, as extra topping, to the half priced woolies pizza (on special this week) - but really, the anchovies are way too salty - and watso added a full jar of anchovy to the pizza.
given the salt in the anchovy, the "use by date" is meaningless - but given the price, watso is happy to buy more.... what is the best way to use the anchovies
just for a bit of extra trivia - watso bought the last 11 cans of riga sprats, and was cycling to a friends place, to give him a can to try - and found $50 in the middle of the road - and then cycled past the local school, and gave the lollypop man a jar of anchovies. the lollypop man lives up the street, and he is often working in his garden, and watso, after a bit of good rtc hunting, and when he sees the lollypop man, watso gives the lollypop man some good rtc produce for free
