Not the Bot nonsense again.

Here is the thing.

When HFTS trade they create a position unless they are buying and selling in equal quantities.

If they create a position divergent from the true value they will get wracked on the exit.

HFTs work in 2 ways.

1. They access and trade news faster than we can ( insider trading)
2. They get trade depth before it hits the market and front run taking a margin.

The third way is to place hoax trades to trick retail investors into selling or buying unrealistic imbalances.

Neither of these things move the price materially over time.

If they move the price too low, buy the bargain.

If they inflate it, sell the darn thing.

HFTs should be banned, but honestly, it does not explain all adverse price movements in the way that most hc participants think!!
