I haven't watched much of what the media has presented in gulf war II but I'll check out those links later on.
I was quite surprised when I recently saw the number of journalists that have been killed and I can't really come up with a rational explanation for the policy.
I do recall though when the tanks were first rolling into Baghdad there was an incident where some Al Jazeera journalists were targeted in a hotel and killed by a tank shell suposedly because they were giving US position information to local fighters...
The problem though is that one, two or even twenty journo's is a very different proposition to the more than 100 that have been killed.
Perhaps the insurgents are trying to pose a heap of spies as journo's (as all other military forces do) but if that is the case then they're not doing a very good job of it.
