Its a fact that a few years back there were a spate of journos killed in Iraq....and allegations were that they were targetted by the allies... ridiculous?
Well, West Australians should remember an article in our Sunday Times, a few years after the Gulf War, where an Aussie journo told his story..... There was only one source of "accredited" news -the "media room", where journos were told what they COULD/SHOULD write.... The Aussie sinned by writing something other than the official spiel, and was taken out into the desert by Special Forces soldiers, made to kneel in the sand, where it was pointed out to him: "There is only one source of information - the media room - nothing else gets published" A gun was then cocked against his head :"Whats it to be? You'll never be found here." His reply: " The media room". Sadly that was hard-copy Sunday Times....anyone else from WA remember it?
Dont believe a thing that comes from official sources after that....
