Sorry to hear about your partners job loss, plenty more to come too I'd imagine.
As far as HC posters go, job losses aren't always negative for SP it shows the company is reducing costs to improve the bottom line in tough times which often means Shareholders get looked after at the expense of individual employees, such as your partner. Sounds, and is, pretty ruthless.
The capital raising was easy and enlarged due to enthusiastic institutional response and I dont think the company is the slightest hint of financial trouble.
