Some of our bed Wetter friends tell us that the reason why Sydney, Perth and Melbourne aren’t losing much land to sea level rises is because the rising ocean is more noticeable around the equatorial area.
Apparently our Fishing Practices, pollution control protocols and Marine Stewardship regulations are world class (ask any State government or our Federal government for that matter).
I have no doubt that our reef systems are miles ahead of anything in the Phillipines area’s but I also know that they have put in place their own regulations to protect their fishing operations.
Healthy reefs produce more fish and sustainable fishing practices produce more revenue over the longer term.
