as I've found many links to scientific explanations to how the bulk of water sits around the equator and so reduces the water level around Sydney (half way between equator and the southern pole). the first places to see increasing inundation is at the equatorial regions particularly where land forces waters into a tight space.
some NSW localities only half a meter above sea level have seen inundation.
but so far the sea level has risen only by an average 9cm. the greatest danger will come when Greenland and Antarctic glaciers melts.
